My photo
Hi, everyone! My name is Kira. At least to you people online. People are usually surprised when they learn I have autism. Many people are under the impression that autistic people are only good at math & don't talk. This is obviously a misconception. I didn't know I was autistic until after I had graduated high school. I was eighteen years old when I took a test with a psychologist to see if I was on the autism spectrum. In the end, it turned out that I have high-functioning autism ((HFA)) or Aspergers Syndrome. I can pretty much pass as "normal" person, with the exceptions that I'm not that great at making eye-contact, I'm generally quiet and a little aloof, social situations are very awkward for me, and I have many sensory issues. Sounds that wouldn't bother most people are incredibly loud and sometimes painful to me. Bright lights hurt my eyes, especially if they're flashing. Tastes and smells are sometimes overwhelming as well. On top of all of that, I don't really like people touching me. I'm a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and his works. I love to write, draw, read, play the piano, paint, and other creative things like that.

Artism

So, since I'm very much into art, and I have autism, I like to joke around with my parents that I have "artism". One of my favorite mediums, aside from pencils and paper, is PhotoShop. It may be safe to say that I'm somewhat addicted to PhotoShop sometimes. The example at the right is one of my entries for a contest on IMVU. For those of you who don't know what IMVU is, it's a 3D Instant Messaging client that allows you to create your own avatar and chat-rooms, that are literally 3D rooms online, and also allows members to create their own virtual products. This was for an ICO contest that required me to use images of the Acoustic Guitar product by LOL. Three of the hairstyles, the two black ones and the brown one, were products that I made. I enjoyed making this picture a lot, even though my computer kept randomly freezing up every few minutes. It was being a little sensitive that day, I guess. Oh, well. It happens to the best of us. Anyways, I have yet to discover how I've done in this contest, but that really doesn't matter to me as much as the fact that I just really had fun working with these pictures. The record album in the background is Exile on Main Street by the Rolling Stones. Hence, the whole "Classic Rock" theme.

Well, anyways, that's all for the moment. I'll probably post some more stuff later. Until then, this is Kira, signing out, and saying G'night.
